The event was organized by the founders of ABC named after their initials (Aimee Vermaelen, Bouchra Van Persie and Carla Fabregas) for SOS Children’s Charity.  One of the many items auctioned off was a 24ct. Gold iPod donated by Laban Roomes of Goldgenie which had Robin Van Persie, Seb Fabregas, Thomas Vermaelen, signatures laser engraved onto the back ~ auction prized organized by Ask Godders.

The event was attended by Thierry Henry and members of the Arsenal football team where they bid generously for items such as Rafael Nadal’s tennis racket which fetched £6,000 and other items such as diamonds, pearls and luxury holidays also went for vast sums of money providing life changing donations to this organization.

Laban Roomes said during an interview with SKY “Our donation of this 24ct. Gold iPod is in line with our Bling with Benefits program where we look to create limited edition products to raise money for good causes” – Bling with Benefits created by Laban Roomes was founded when he designed 900 limited edition Starburst iPods for superstar Sir Elton John AIDS Foundation – raising much needed cash for people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.

Happy Birthday to superstar Beyonce, who turned 29 years young on the 4th of September! I still can’t believe how much the woman has achieved and she is not even 30 yet! In the past 12 months alone it’s estimated that Beyonce earned a staggering $87 million – it’s obscene! And according to the Forbes Rich List her hubby Jay-Z pulled in $63 million. I get the feeling they don’t argue about who pays the bills. Because Beyonce looks so good in gold and diamonds (not everyone can pull off her many looks, money or not!), I think a Beyonce Gold Appreciation Foundation should be set up in her honour, what do you think?

B truly deserves an award for her outstanding contributions to red carpet events. I must admit Beyonce (and my love of Oreos) makes me do that extra 20 minutes on the treadmill! She motivates regular women around the world everyday and probably doesn’t even realise it. Her glamour, style, sexiness and of course her amazing voice have made her a global icon and if her body can’t motivate you to get yours in shape, what on earth can???

In my humble opinion one of Beyonce’s best videos is ‘Upgrade U’ – look at the use of gold towards the end of the video, not to mention the diamante swimwear – stunning! Check it out:

The World Land Trust (WLT) elephant has been designed by SHO Fine Jewellery in partnership with Swarovski to produce what is expected to be one of the most glamorous and eye catching elephants of the parade.  Named the Pearly Prince, the elephant features a different design on each side.  One half is covered in Swarovski crystal pearls with the other side showing a pearl and crystal encrusted skeleton, symbolising what may be the fate of the Asian elephants if action is not taken to protect their threatened habitats.  It is the only elephant in the parade with tusks and features 11,000 Swarovski pearls and 13,000 crystals and took 480 hours to create.  Wow, talk about bespoke with luxury for a wonderful cause.  You can see this magnificent elephant at Coutts & Co. Watch the making of the Pearly Prince here.
